Film-Type Perovskite Solar Cells on Smart Pole at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
HIS×Saule Technologies×Fujipream
H.I.S. Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Motofumi Yada; hereinafter referred to as HIS) will collaborate with Saule Technologies (Headquarters: Wroclaw, Poland; Founder and Chief Technology Officer: Olga Malinkiewicz; hereinafter referred to as Saule Technologies) and Fujipream Corporation (Headquarters: Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture; President: Michinaga Matsumoto; hereinafter referred to as Fujipream) to provide and implement film-type perovskite solar cells on smart poles* installed by Japan Network Support Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Masanori Kataoka; hereinafter referred to as Japan Network Support) at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
Perovskite solar cells are next-generation solar cells that use compounds with a perovskite crystal structure as the power generation layer. They can generate electricity not only from sunlight but also from indoor lighting, offering high power generation efficiency, lightness, and flexibility, making them highly versatile for various installations. HIS has been an early supporter of Saule Technologies, investing in their work since 2015. As the exclusive distributor of their products in Japan and across Asia, HIS is playing a key role in bringing their innovations to new markets and applications.
HIS, Saule Technologies, and Fujipream will provide and implement film-type perovskite solar cells on the smart pole installed by Japan Network Support in the "Power Pavilion: Eggs of Possibility" at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan taking place from April 13. Saule Technologies' development technology has enabled us to provide and mount a surface perovskite solar cell module that is adapted to the cylindrical shape of the SmartPole, rather than the conventional flat type. Additionally, Fujipream's unique precision bonding technology has been applied to enhance the durability and longevity of the perovskite solar cells. These technologies have improved the design and functionality of the smart pole.

Olga Malinkiewicz, who was in the doctoral program in physics at the University of Valencia, founded the company in 2014 to commercialize a method of applying perovskite-based solar cells onto flexible thin sheets. In 2021, the company began a production on the world's first dedicated manufacturing line for perovskite solar cell production.
